Spark Connect Toolkit & Spark Seed Initiative
Below are two exciting updates from the team at Spark that might be of interest to HSE and Section 38 OT's
Spark Connect Toolkit
"Registration is now open to request the Spark Connect Toolkit, a resource designed to support you in hosting innovation-focused events within your own workplace.
Whether you're looking to generate new ideas, explore challenges, or simply start a conversation around innovation on the frontline, this toolkit is here to help. It provides practical guidance to facilitate meaningful discussions and identify areas where innovative solutions could make a real difference.
The ideas generated through these conversations may even lead to your next application for Spark funding, helping you take your concepts further and turn them into impactful projects.
We believe that innovation starts with dialogue and we want to support you in creating spaces where those conversations can thrive.

Please note: the full toolkit will only be available to those who register in advance. With limited quantity, elements of the toolkit to support concept development will be available once full packs have been assigned to registrants. The final date to register for a full pack is Thursday, 30th October, so don’t miss out."
Spark Seed Initiative
"Applications are now open for the Spark Seed. This seed-funding opportunity runs twice a year and is designed to support frontline healthcare workers in bringing innovative ideas to life. Whether you're working on a new concept or refining a previous project, Spark Seed offers micro funding of up to €5,000 per individual or group to help you take the next step.
Spark welcome applications from employees of the HSE and Section 38 who are:
- Doctors (NCHDs and consultants)
- Nurses and midwives
- Health and Social Care Professionals (HSCPs)
- Pharmacists
If you’ve applied before, you’re very welcome to apply again with a new idea. Spark Seed is about empowering those closest to care delivery to improve our health service in creative, meaningful ways. If you have an idea that could make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
