Irish Hospice Foundation
announce scholarships for Postgraduate courses –
supporting those who provide care for people at end of life and in loss and bereavement
Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF) place enormous value on education in relation to end-of-life care, loss and bereavement. Education is relevant to all who provide direct support to people facing death in hospitals, nursing homes and the community as well as those who support people who are bereaved e.g. nurses, doctors, GPs, social workers, bereavement volunteers, therapists, chaplains, psychologists, frontline staff etc.
As a further commitment to grief education, IHF are delighted to announce their Scholarship Programme for the forthcoming academic year. Whilst IHF run two Postgraduate courses in association with RCSI, the scholarships apply to any Postgraduate course relating to end of life and bereavement.
The scholarships of €3,000 each aim to make education accessible to multiple disciplines (nursing, medicine, allied health professionals and others). The scholarships are linked to IHF core programmes and applicants are invited from acute, nursing home and community health sectors and from the wider community, in particular with respect to bereavement.
“We are delighted to announce IHF Scholarship programme for 2022/23. Making education more accessible to those who provide care at these most sensitive times of life is a part of our goal to ensure that best end- of-life and bereavement care is available for all. We invite applications from individuals working in health and community settings who have identified a relevant course of study which they wish to undertake in the coming year.”
