CORU Appeals Committee
As part of its on-going commitment to good governance, CORU is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified CORU-Registered Occupational Therapists for the Appeals Committee. The Appeals Committee at CORU reviews decisions on registration and recognition applications that have been refused, allowing applicants to contest these decisions.
Committee members will collaborate in a volunteer capacity to evaluate evidence, ensuring fairness and consistency while reaching well-reasoned decisions in line with regulatory standards and natural justice principles.
What we require from professional members is usually a few hours of their time per case: 1 hour for an initial call to review the papers, and if necessary, a further 3 hours for an appeals hearing. There is a strong possibility that we may not need these 3 hours, depending on the first assessment. Members can expect 6 to 7 half-days per year.

Joining the Appeals Committee offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to fair decision-making while enhancing one's expertise in regulatory standards and professional governance.
We truly appreciate it if you could share this opportunity with your occupational therapist members. If possible, we would greatly appreciate it if you could also share our social media post on your channels.
