AOTI Response to HSE Autism Assessment and Intervention Pathway Protocol

Response highlights our concerns

AOTI welcomes the opportunity to participate in the consultation on the HSE Autism Assessment and Intervention Pathway Protocol. The draft document, which was issued by the HSE in November 2024, has been reviewed by several of our Advisory Groups including the Children & Young Persons, the Intellectual Disability, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health, the Primary Care and the Mental Health Advisory Groups. Many thanks to the members of these AGs who assisted the Management Team with compiling our response to the HSE.

We strongly welcome the HSE's focus on improving Autism services and pathways as an area of evolving and paramount need. However, AOTI has significant concerns in relation to the current draft of the Protocol document, its potential risks and proposed implementation. You can read the AOTI response here.

AOTI representatives will be participating in the consultation meeting scheduled for March 2025 and we will continue to advocate for our position as set out in our response.
