This event aims to give occupational therapists the skills to be able to use the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure in their everyday practice.  COPM is used by many occupational therapists across different specialties.  In today’s health and social care environment is it increasingly important to record outcomes to demonstrate the value of intervention to service managers and commissioners.  The COPM is an internationally recognized reliable and effective assessment for occupational therapists to use with confidence.  The measure is designed to detect change in a client's self-perception of occupational performance over time.

The COPM is designed for use with clients with a variety of disabilities and across all developmental stages.  The COPM is a standardized instrument, in that there are specific instructions and methods for administering and scoring the test.  It is designed as an outcome measure, with a semi-structured interview format and structured scoring method.  Change scores between assessment and reassessment using the COPM are the most meaningful scores derived from this assessment.
