AOTI Conference takes place on 27th and 28th March, 2015 at the Galway Bay Hotel

AOTI Conference takes place on 27th and 28th March, 2015 at the Galway Bay Hotel with a theme of ‘50 years a growing’. Just a few weeks left to prepare your conference abstracts!

Conference may be six months away, but if you, like many, are keen on presenting at the conference, you will need to move fast. The closing date for abstracts is 5th October, 2014 at 23:59. This leaves you three weeks to put pen to paper and submit your abstracts for presentation at the 2015 conference.
Don’t worry if you are unsure of the idea you have for presenting at conference as the conference committee welcomes a wide range of presentations across a wide range of subjects.  Abstracts are invited for poster presentations, workshops, oral presentations and symposiums. Presentations may be on research or have a clinical focus.
There are very clear guidelines on the conference website www.aoticonference.ie regarding how to prepare your abstract for a presentation, workshop or symposium.
In 2014, a CPD points system was introduced for AOTI members. Members need to accrue thirty points of CPD each year across three CPD categories. Presenting at conference is a great opportunity to share your knowledge and skills with other OTs from across the country, establish working relationships with therapists with interests in similar innovations and practice areas and enhance your own professional development. It is also an opportunity to gain CPD points under Category 2; (Courses, Conferences and Inservices) and/or Category 6 (Further Education and Research), depending on your type of presentation.
The abstract required is only 250 words. You then have a number of months to prepare your presentation. So if you are even interested in the notion of contributing to the content and focus of our professional conference in 2015, take a few minutes to put your ideas down and submit your abstract.
