AOTI CPD POINTS SYSTEM
The AOTI CPD Points system complements the existing CPD portfolio. It commences in January 2014 for AOTI members.
In 2013, AOTI introduced a points system for CPD whereby members are required to attain a total of 30 points over a one-year period, in order to maintain membership of AOTI. This new system builds on and complements the existing AOTI CPD Portfolio.
A process of auditing members to ensure compliance with this CPD system was also introduced. The year to accumulate CPD points will commence in January and finish in December, regardless of when you joined AOTI.
Therefore points collated from January 1st 2014 until December 31st 2014 will be subject to audit in 2015.
A random sample of members will be chosen for audit but not everyone will be audited.
The aim of this new system is to promote high standards of continuing professional development among AOTI members and to support AOTI members to be well-prepared for the CPD standards which CORU will set for occupational therapists when state registration commences. By using the AOTI CPD system members will be compliant with CORU CPD standards and documentation from the AOTI CPD system will be accepted by CORU if the regulator selects you for random audit.
The booklet is available for AOTI members to download. Just log into www.aoti.ie. Go to 'Membership' tab. Go to 'Members only Publications' look at 'Professional Resources'.
