As part of the implementation of the National Domestic, Sexual and Gender Based Violence (DSGBV) and Human Trafficking Training Programmes, the NSIO is organising a series of online topic specific webinars and trainings.

Session: Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) – Applying gender-sensitive approaches in combating trafficking in human beings 

ü  Aim of the webinar: The webinar will serve as a platform to discuss the complexities that lie in understanding and implementing gender-sensitive approaches in combating THB.

ü  Benefit of participating: The event will provide an opportunity for the staff of the HSE Social Inclusion Office from across Ireland to discuss best practices and lesson learned in applying gender-sensitive approaches in CTHB, focusing on practical measures and policies they can implement to ensure that anti-trafficking prevention and protection efforts are gender-sensitive and responsive, reflecting the differentiated experiences of all victims.

Note – completion of the “Human Trafficking Awareness Training” HSELanD module is required to attend this session.

Session: Unseen and Underserved: Addressing the Unique Experiences of Black Women in Ireland Facing DSGBV

ü  Overview: Exploring the unique challenges faced by Black women in Ireland experiencing domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence, and equipping frontline staff with culturally informed strategies to provide effective support. The session will consider why we need to examine the experiences of Black women in Ireland, the evidence and gaps, barriers to challenges and best practice for frontline staff.

Session: Supporting LGBTQ+ Survivors of Sexual Violence

ü  Overview: This session will cover the impact of sexual violence in the LGBTQ+ community, explore barriers and facilitators of help-seeking for LGBTQ+ survivors of sexual violence (research/systematic review outcomes), and will provide input from the service provider perspective and survivor perspective.
